Illustrations and book design for 'Types' - an atlas of 50 stereotypes of our society.

There are well-known stereotypes in our societies. The idea of creating an atlas outlining them with short explanations, stories and illustrations is obvious - and entertaining.
Various illustrators created the characters in this atlas. Bartholomaedesign took on the design of the two-volume edition "Types" and illustrated the bourgeois.
The term “philistine” originates from the Middle Ages and is derived from the term “philistine” - those townspeople who contributed to the defense of the town with simple weapons. Over time, the term became increasingly pejorative, especially in student circles. Today, it describes a narrow-minded person, characterized by mental immobility, pronounced conformity to social norms and aversion to changes in the familiar environment.
Everyone knows situations in which they have been confronted with the pedantry and narrow-mindedness of these restricted fellow citizens - often as a buzzkill on the action. The satirical and exaggerated depiction of everyday situations with these unsympathetic and restricted fellow human beings, on the other hand, is a lot of fun.
The philistine illustrated by Bartholomaedesign appears very small, with stern glasses and conservative clothing. In addition to the illustration of the philistine, Bartholomaedesign also conceived and created the entire design of the atlas. Each volume was also provided with a specially designed banderole on which the chosen character could be depicted.

The “Types” atlas illustrates 50 common characters in a two-volume edition. Bartholomaedesign created the illustration for the character of the philistine and was responsible for the concept and design of the atlas.

A freely selectable banderole offers the option of depicting your favorite character. This is explained in more detail in the book with short texts and illustrations.

We are all familiar with the philistine, the subject who once carried out the will of the authorities armed with a spear. The conformist citizen is conspicuous for his pedantic small-mindedness.
